Yesterday, I listened to the press conference with Trump and Netanyahu with total disbelief and spent the night fretting over the sheer lunacy of the discussion over Gaza. All I could think about was Macbeth’s soliloquy in Macbeth, Act 5, Scene 5:
“Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day
To the last syllable of recorded time,
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!
Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.”
I refuse to take Trump seriously and reject his lame attempt to erase the 2-state solution from American foreign policy, although I am certain that Netanyahu will take that misbegotten change to heart. This ploy is nothing more than a macabre attempt to divert attention from the ongoing high jacking of the Federal Government.
Nonetheless, I remain in a highly agitated state and have chosen to resort to music to regain a sense of calm. Here are my choices.
